Llys-y-Fran Country Park
Our garden gate leads to Llys-y-Fran Country Park: over 350 acres of parkland around wooded valleys and 2 mile lake. There is good fishing as the lake is regularly stocked with rainbow trout throughout the season. For walkers and cyclists there is an 8 mile perimeter trail providing fine views and a variety of wildlife including badgers, foxes and otters. The broadleaf woodland provides a breeding site for sparrowhawk, buzzard and woodpecker whilst the lake attracts uncommon water bird species such as little gull and black tern. Mountain bikes and fishing boats may be hired and owners of sailing boats, canoes and sail-boards may use their craft by arrangement with the water company's staff at the Visitor Centre. The gift shop and restaurant are open daily from mid-March to the end of October. For further details about the Country Park including information on fishing, ring 01437-532273 |
